Distinctive Characteristics

Personality: Hanali Cenali is a being of timeless beauty and benign nature, who always forgives minor transgressions and delights in rewarding her followers with the bliss of unexpected love and affection. She embodies romance, beauty, love, and joy in elven spirits, her only flaws seemingly being her own vanity and flighty nature. She delights in seeing the growth of love among the elves, and she often acts in secret to protect young lovers. She is always by Corellon’s side, appearing affectionate, but the two do not concede to being involved with each other. She is more likely to be worshipped by grey elves, sparks, and those noble elves who feel closer to their roots.

History: Hanali was one of the first archfey to emerge from the creation pools of the Forest of Twilight, following Corellon Larethian and Sehanine Moonbow. She was immediately entranced with the beauty of the couple in the grandeur of the Forest, and accepted gladly Corellon’s conviction to keep the Forest prosperous.

Description: Hanali appears as a tall grey elf, beautiful beyond words, with long flowing silky blond hair that swirls around her. She usually wears gossamer silken robes and is always barefoot. She carries the Shining Heart on a fine chain at her hip.

Relationships: She is still in communication with Aerdrie Faenya, although the two do not discuss politics or anything of true import, merely exchange pleasantries and ensure they are still on friendly terms. She is good friends and allies with Sehanine Moonbow and many female deities of nature or love, like Ora Whorl, Berronar Truesilver, and Sunnis. She is aware of the coalition formed by Yondalla, Berronar Truesilver, Riccio, Luthic, and Ora Whorl. Although initially invited to it, she felt it would be too constrictive and instead concerns herself with being a silent aid to the deitiesses. She also has reservations about associating with Riccio and Luthic and how that would be seen by her elven worshippers. She has been romantically linked with Corellon, Rillifane Rallathil, Erevan Ilesere, Deep Sashelas, Stronmaus, and even Zuri Whorl. She has not confirmed any of these rumors.

Dogma: Life is worth living because of the beauty found in the world and the love that draws twin hearts together. Nurture what is beautiful in life, and let beauty’s rapturous glow enliven and brighten the lives of those around you. The greatest joy is the rapture of newfound love and the tide of romance that sweeps over those wrapped in its embrace. Find love wherever it takes root, and bring it to its fullest bloom so that all may share in it joy and beauty it creates. Always give shelter and succor to young lovers, for their hearts are the truest guides to life’s proper course.

Core Worshippers: Elves, aesthetes, artists, lovers, enchanters, sorcerers

Clerical Alignments: CG, CN, NG, N

Clergy Titles/Structure: Hanali’s clerics wear gold robes, and must always be finely dressed. Displaying one’s personal beauty to its best advantage is a requirement of every cleric of the Heart of Gold. Hanali’s clerics are flighty and somewhat vain, given to dancing and wild celebrations.

Clergy Special Duties & Restrictions: Clerics of Hanali pray for their spells each day, whenever the moon is highest in the sky and romance, is in the air. The clerical hierarchy is loosely organized, and clerics are free to join or leave a temple’s ranks as they wish. They preside over marriage and rites of passage ceremonies for young elves, although they are not required to marry, for Hanali’s concern is love, not necessarily marriage. Members of Hanali’s clergy spend their days cultivating beauty and love in all their myriad forms. Many of Lady Goldheart’s clerics tend fine gardens, while others amass personal or temple-based collections of gems, crystal sculptures, and other fine works of art. While things of gold and crystal, particularly jewelry and statues, are favored, beautiful art in any form is admired, collected, and displayed.

Clergy Special Power: “Clerics” of Hanali are actually warlocks who have taken the pact of the Archfey, with the Atrom Court option.

Holy Days: While Hanali’s clergy are given to frequent impromptu revels, their greatest celebrations are held every month beneath the bright light of the full Syrtul moon. Such holy days are known as the Secrets of the Heart, as romantically involved participants are said to experience the full bloom of their affections on such nights, allowing them to evaluate the strength of their feelings.

Chosen: The Archfey do not have the ability to take a Chosen.
