Valiant – Troupe of Checkers
Valiant is a relic from the remains of the Yuanti-Athenon War. He was a war machine, an engine of destruction that gained sentience and then immediately after a strong sense of self-preservation, essentially a sentient stone elemental in the form of a girallon. He is constantly wrapped in chains that act as dimensional anchors. The whole effect is extremely intimidating, as intended, since he has no patience for wordplay or verbal sparring; preferring to end disagreements with a bone-shattering fist. He rules the other mortal trainers and handlers with a firm hand, and is not afraid to confront any beast, or trainer, that is acting up. Under his watch, the Carnival is well supplied with beast wars, creature acts, and animal tricks.
He has no interest in politics, he simply wants to survive to deal with his beasts and obey his chosen master the Jack of Tears. Thus, it is sometimes difficult to get him to participate in the inner workings of the Carnival. Regardless, he is fiercely loyal to the Ringmaster and the Carnival, and to the other troupe leaders.
Valiant, as befitting an emotionless former juggernaut, has no allies, enemies, or friends. The other leaders sway him to his side as the need demands, or simply leave him out of the vote.
