Environment: desert wastelands (glass seas, salt flats, mountains, vastitas, desolate plains
History: Millenia ago, the same Eldars who mixed technology with sorcery used it to experiment on the environment. The Genesis power was created to further this means, but it went horribly wrong.

In ages past, this was just a small desert occupying the southern part of the continent. It has mysteriously over the centuries been growing slowly but steadily. Very few know that this is from the dedicated efforts of generations of the walkers in the wastes. It now occupies the entire southern half of the mainland, but desert only describes part of the wasteland. There are glass seas, salt flats, mountain ranges, vastitas, and desolate plains. The middle of the desert closest to the civilized lands of the north is almost wholly soft sand, difficult to travel in, and the source of many stories of desert dangers. This is also where the Arraku, the fabled serpent of the sand, roams, hunting psychic energy on which to feed. Tribes of nomads called the basamortua make the entire waste their home, keeping a rich oral history and fighting tradition alive and combating the many hives of the dreaded stingers.

Ruling Entity: none

Items of Interest: To the southwest, along the mountain range, lies the Shardsea. This is a vast glass sea that stretches for miles and is practically impassible. It is home to many crystalline creatures, including gem dragons, and helps separate the Golden Fields from the desert. Unknown to most of the world, this is also the site of the Invoked Devastation.

Foreign Policy: The independent but unified tribal nation of the basamortua consider any nation that is against the depredations of the stingers and the expansion of the desert to be their allies, except for the Kith. They are more than willing to trade and they travel the breadth of the Southron Desert in search of new magic, technology, or information that can be used to achieve their ultimate goal: the destruction of the Arraku, who they believe is the reason for the desert’s existence.
