Shadows of Dakaron

The World of Dakaron – a unique fantasy setting that has everything from a creeping desert, a living forest, powerful beings struggling for control behind the scenes, and a variety of races and cultures trying to survive it all.

Keleris Nightstalker

The man now known as the Viper of Xoac was a shy young man who should’ve become one of Dakaron’s greatest avian sages and led the avariel civilization back to the mainland. Every timeline I read tells me this, over and over. Something happened to change this, something that shifted the events of our timeline to lead to the Eternal Day. It concerns me that I have been led away from the answer to the conundrum that is Keleris Nightstalker.

excerpts from Krim’s notes.

Manipulation of the timeline is expressly forbidden by the Immortal of Time. It is deeply worrying that neither Krim nor I have any knowledge of why this happened. I must study this further…unfortunately, Keleris is too well protected to approach.

The Beggar King

My bad.

Keleris was a somber young man who never participated in the activities of his peers, instead concentrating on his birds. As eerie as others found his presence, however, he always quietly wished to be a part of their groups. Once he discovered Xoac, he found himself part of a community. He has dedicated his life to enabling his master to accomplish his goals, and after several years and campaigns of strife, he has become a leader in the Church of Ra. He commands legions of fanatics, and is intent on the destruction of the forces of good; more specifically, the forces of Bastra and Horus, his principal enemies. He has been sidetracked in this detail lately, however, by the discovery of a remarkable woman; Elayne. He has fallen in love with her and has made repeated entreaties to her, to be rejected every time. His only hate (and subsequent fear) is the undead, which he can’t understand at all and would rather see destroyed than allowed to propagate further.

During the Eternal Day Keleris invaded the country with the intention of creating a bastion of worship to Xoac on the mainland. His plan was to use this as a launching base to attack Threy. His army has continually been denied this goal, however, first by the pirates, led by Tula Radul, and by the mountain-folk, who have responded to the call of the Jester, a mysterious being who appeared out of the mountains. They have repelled Keleris’s attacks enough that he has set up a border siege of the country on the edge of Egremont. He was also distracted when he realized that General Blight’s army was in a perfect position to attack him and so he directed part of his army to vex the giant army. He had to turn away from the siege entirely when General Blight invaded Unicorn’s Glen, and the army of Xoac was able to repel the giant army and force them back into the Wastelands. He is uninterested in taking land, and so the Dark Speakers were able to keep their acquired land.

Even Keleris doesn’t understand why his deity directed him to try to take the country.

His black full-plate armor is crafted to look like a skeletal cobra, and his massive shield bears his emblem of a coiled cobra on it.
